Library Statement Condemning Anti-Asian Hate

Statement Condemning Anti-Asian Hate Adopted by the Library Board of Trustees, April 12, 2021 The Piscataway Public Library condemns the rise in abhorrent anti-Asian discrimination, xenophobic violence, and hate crimes in the United States which have escalated during the COVID-19 pandemic. We stand in solidarity with community members of Asian American, Asian, and Pacific Islander descent. All community members should feel safe, secure, and live without fear of discrimination and violence. The Piscataway Public Library reaffirms its commitment to anti-racism as a value in our collections and services, and recognizes we must continually evaluate our practices to ensure we are making lasting and sustainable change.
