A variety of long- and short-term volunteer opportunities are available for individuals at both branches of Piscataway Library. Groups looking to volunteer can also usually be accommodated, with enough notice and depending on the needs of the library at any given time. Some opportunities are only available to Piscataway residents or only at specific times of year. Review a full listing of detailed opportunities before completing a volunteer application form (below). A member of the library staff will only respond to applicants on an as-needed basis.

Volunteer Opportunities for Youth

This section includes information for those who are in or going into Grades 6-12 (or ages 11-18), including those requesting volunteer hours for National Honor Society and those interested in helping with the Summer Reading Program.

Volunteer Opportunities for Adults

From general assistance around our buildings to sharing a specific skill set, adult volunteers are a tremendous asset to our library. There are long-term or short-term opportunities available throughout the year. We also offer opportunities for court-ordered service.

Friends of Piscataway Public Library
