2021 Summer Reading Club: Tails & Tales

What is the Summer Reading Club?

Each year, the Library provides a summer reading program to our community to encourage children to read for fun and to help kids keep using all of the skills they’ve learned in school over summer vacation!

This year’s Summer Reading Club runs from June 17th through August 5th. Our 2021 theme is Tails & Tales - animals and stories! Starting June 17th, you’ll be able to earn digital badges and awesome prizes by reading and completing fun activities using READsquared (our summer reading website). You’ll also find great reading lists there!

Who can participate?

Anyone who is a Piscataway resident between the ages of 0-12 years.

How do I register?

Registration begins on June 17, 2021. Visit the library’s READsquared website: http://piscataway.readsquared.com/.

Kids ages 0-5 years will be enrolled in our PreK Tails & Tales program, and kids ages 6-12 years will be enrolled in our Children's Tails & Tales program.

If you do not have access to a computer or mobile device, the Library will provide printed reading logs and activity sheets upon request. For more information, contact Sharlene Edwards at 732-463-1633 ext. 7 or email sedwards@piscatawaylibrary.org.

Registration continues until Thursday, July 29.

How do I earn prizes?

There are two ways that you can earn points and win prizes:

  1. Log the minutes that you spend reading (or spend being read to) on our READsquared Summer Reading Club website!

    1 minute = 1 point

    200 minutes = 200 points = YOUR FIRST PRIZE!

  2. Complete missions! Complete up to 5 missions on READsquared to earn points!

Each mission has 8 suggested activities

Complete 4 activities = 80 POINTS
