In March read a book with a Female Protagonist

For recommendations, check out our ARC Booklist at any branch or online at piscatawaylibrary.org/readingchallenges.

The rules are simple:

  • During each month, read a book that fits the chosen challenge category. Recommendation lists are available both online and in print at either branch.
  • After finishing a book, submit an Adult Reading Challenge entry form found at our Information Desks. Only patrons 18+ can fill out contest entries.
  • Each completed form will enter you into our Monthly Prize Drawing! Read as much as you can -- there's no limit to monthly entries!
  • If you complete any of our monthly challenges during the year, you are automatically entered into our GRAND PRIZE DRAWING. To win the Grand Prize, just attend at our Adult Reading Challenge End of the Year Celebration! One grand prize entry per patron.
  • Feel free to ask a Librarian for monthly suggestions!

Read with a purpose. And for prizes. Remember -- we are here to help if you'd like suggestions!

Bon Voyage, James!

The staff and Board of Trustees would like to share our well wishes to James Keehbler as he embarks on a new professional journey as the Director of the Hunterdon County Library System. James was the Director -- and a true leader -- at Piscataway Library for the past 9 years, during which he has extended full operating hours at Westergard Library, expanded teen services for the organization including a brand new teen room at the branch, spearheaded the first public library makerspace in the state with our Make It Yourself (MiY) Lab, and established the PPL Foundation to set up a system to support continued excellence in community-wide service. An active Rotarian in Piscataway, he was also involved in many service events like the Memorial Day Picnic. James continues to be very active in the NJ Library Association and sits on the Board of NJ Makers Day, a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization. Piscataway Library's current Associate Director, Allen McGinley, will be interim Director while a search committee led by the Library Board of Trustees proceeds with filling the position.
