2021 Summer Reading Program

Summer is in full bloom this year! What better way to celebrate this beautiful season than to join the Piscataway Public Library’s annual Summer Reading Program! Sign up for one of our programs: for children, teens, or adults. Record your reading progress during the summer and win prizes at the Library. There will be a number of exciting virtual events being held this summer, so make sure to also take a look at our calendar.

 

Adult Summer Reading Program (June 17 – August 10)

Sign up at READsquared – use the website or the app! Earn prizes for every 200 minutes you spend reading. Any form of reading counts, even listening to audiobooks! Need more information? Check out the details here or stop by the Information Desk at Kennedy or Westergard.

 

Adults are also welcome to join us for our monthly Book Chat (held the 3rd Thursday of every month) and Book Discussions. Teen Summer Reading Club (June 18 – July 31)

Teens entering grades 7-12 can register for summer reading club here!  Complete items on a fun checklist (some reading related, some not!) to get entries into a weekly raffle AND our grand prize raffles at the end of the program. At the end of the summer, every teen who has completed ten or more items on the checklist will be invited to a special virtual party!

Children’s Summer Reading Club (June 17 – August 5)

 

The 2021 Children’s Summer Reading Program theme is Tails & Tales – animals and stories! Starting June 17th, you’ll be able to earn digital badges and awesome prizes by reading and completing fun activities using READsquared (our online summer reading platform). You’ll also find great reading lists there! Anyone who is a Piscataway resident between the ages of 0-12 years can participate. Kids ages 0-5 years will be enrolled in our PreK Tails & Tales program, and kids ages 6-12 years will be enrolled in our Children’s Tails & Tales program.
