Libraries Rock! Summer Reading Club

We’re so excited – warm weather is here and summer is in full swing!

Every year, the Piscataway Public Library offers a unique summer reading program to our community to encourage children to read for pleasure, to encourage caregivers to read to their babies & toddlers on a daily basis, and to aid in the retention of students’ reading skills during summer vacation.

Our 2018 Libraries Rock! Summer Reading Club begins on Thursday, June 21st, and runs through Tuesday, August 14th. We offer incentives for reading and for completing activities focused on S.T.E.A.M. (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math) literacy and community engagement. This year we’ve combined our reading challenges and S.T.E.A.M. activities in a game board format to appeal to avid and reluctant readers. The Summer Reading Club is open to all Piscataway residents from newborns to children entering 6th grade.

In addition, the Children’s Department will be hosting weekly and special events at both locations all summer long, including family fun nights; story times; movie showings; arts and crafts; coding programs, and much more. Make sure you visit our Events Calendar so that you don’t miss a beat!

We hope to see you this summer!
