Are you ready for Tinker Camp?

Looking for ways to engage your children with science and technology this summer? Children entering grades K-5 are encouraged to sign up for Tinker Camp!

One of last year’s campers plays with slime!

Tinker Camp will be running this summer as a part of Piscataway Public Library’s Summer of Make, thanks to funding by the Friends of the Library. Activities will run for five weeks, beginning in the end of June. There will be two sessions per week, divided by grade, for Piscataway residents only. Children entering grades K-2 can sign up for activities taking place on Wednesday mornings, and children entering grades 3-5 can sign up for activities taking place on Thursday mornings. The goal of Tinker Camp is to introduce participants to new and exciting scientific concepts. They will learn about the topic, then be given a project that relates. After going through basic instructions on how to make the project, the children are encouraged to make modifications and explore how they might improve or change the design. At the end, the group reviews the science behind their project so they can teach someone at home. Make your own soap, create art with gravity, play with dough that conducts electricity, and even make s’mores with solar energy!
