MiY:makerspace at Piscataway Public Library

Bring Your Ideas to MiY

Make It Yourself (MiY) gives residents of all ages access to tools, techniques and hands-on learning experiences that will spark their imaginations and enrich their lives. A particular focus will be given to young people, with the goal of inspiring/nurturing their interest in science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM). STEM education is increasingly important as students prepare for careers in our 21st century, technology-dependent, global economy. Looking at global technology trends, these learning and "making" experiences are going to be vital for current and future generations.

3D Scanning and Design

3D Scanner

3D Scanning is an invaluable tool in creation, animation and design. The 3D scanner will work with Autodesk Inventor,  Blender, the open source 3D Design program, as well as the Makerbot 3D Printer.

Blender is free software that allows a person to do 3D design, animation and game creation. This will allow MiY users to design in 3D at home and in the library.  Autodesk Inventor is available on two library computers.
