From the Division of Taxation:
We want your small business to be successful! The first step is a business plan, registration, and reporting business income. In this seminar, new business owners or potential business owners learn how to properly register a small business with the State of New Jersey and definitions of the different business structures. Once a business earns money, business income is reported to New Jersey. This program will explain the flow of income and how it is reported from the business to the individual.
Small businesses may be required to collect and remit certain New Jersey business taxes. If your business is going to have employees, you have tax obligations to the State of New Jersey. This seminar gives small business employers an overview of their filing responsibilities and how to withhold tax for their New Jersey employees.
New Jersey has a sales tax rate of 6.875%. This seminar gives a general understanding of New Jersey Sales and Use tax law and filing requirements. We also discuss use and/or accepting New Jersey Sales and Use Tax exemption certificates.
