PISCATAWAY, NJ - January 7th, 2013 - The Piscataway Public Library has added additional open hours for our MiY makerspace. Use of the space is now available Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 3pm to 5pm.
The MiY Makerspace is a unique learning, creating and exploration area located within the Kennedy Branch of the Piscataway Public Library. In the space, we provide access to equipment, tools and technologies including a 3D printer, 3D scanner, vinyl cutter, music instruments and digital media creation tools, heat press, robotics kits, electronics kits such as Makey Makey, Arduino and Raspberry Pi, sewing machines, a vertical milling machine and more!
During these open hours, visitors will have the opportunity to come and use these technologies to learn and create. The space will be facilitate by staff and/or volunteers who will can assist with general questions. The Library is working toward providing expanded hours for the space after the new year, and continues to provide access to space by appointment for those who would like to use it outside these prescribed hours.
