FIELD STATION: DINOSAURS TO VISIT PISCATAWAY PUBLIC LIBRARY THIS JUNE

PISCATAWAY, NJ --The Piscataway Public Library is excited to announce an upcoming visit from Field Station: Dinosaurs.  A Dinosaur Troubadour will visit the J.F. Kennedy Memorial library on Wednesday, June 20th, at 6:00 PM to share dinosaur-themed songs and stories. Plus, there will be a meet and greet with a roaring, walking, life-like 15 foot T-REX! All are welcome.

For the past several years, Field Station: Dinosaurs has visited libraries throughout New Jersey free of charge to help promote summer reading programs that encourage children of all ages to read during summer vacation.

“Sometimes it can be challenging to get young children to read nonfiction, but most children go through a dinosaur phase. They’ll carry out a stack of nonfiction books on all things dinosaur-related from fossils to velociraptors. Field Station: Dinosaurs provides library patrons with a truly unique educational experience that also happens to be a lot of fun,” said Sharlene Edwards, Head of Children’s Services at the Piscataway Public Library. “We can use a great event like this as an opportunity to promote our Summer Reading Club and, hopefully, to inspire kids to put a nonfiction book or two into their reading pile this summer.”

About Piscataway Public Library’s Summer Reading Club Program

The Piscataway Public Library offers a unique summer reading program to our community to encourage children to read for pleasure, to encourage caregivers to read to their babies & toddlers on a daily basis, and to aid in the retention of students’ reading skills during summer vacation. The 2018 Libraries Rock! Summer Reading Club begins on Thursday, June 21st, and runs through Tuesday, August 14th. We offer incentives for reading and for completing activities focused on S.T.E.A.M. (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math) literacy and community engagement. The Summer Reading Club is open to all Piscataway residents from newborns to children entering 6th grade.
